Have dealer warranty concerns?
Some people believe that any modification will void a dealership warranty; however, this is not necessarily the case. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a modification won't void your warranty unless an automaker or dealer can prove that an aftermarket part caused the specific need for repairs. Therefore, installing a Fumoto valve typically will not void your warranty.
In the event that a valve is found to have caused an issue with your vehicle, the dealer may not cover that specific damage. We recommend contacting your dealer for further details, as warranty terms vary.
Please note that if you take your vehicle to an oil change service, you should inform the technicians that the vehicle is equipped with a Fumoto valve and explain how to operate it. Otherwise, they may remove the valve and replace it with a stock oil drain plug, or they may be unable to operate it correctly.
